Victoria Falls was once named one of the seven natural wonders of the world and was discovered by David Livingstone in 1855. Situated in the central-western region of Zambia, the Kafue National Park is the oldest and largest of the country’s national parks, and remains largely unexplored. The Kafue is home to possibly the greatest diversity of wildlife of any national park in Africa, and in recent years has seen small and well managed growth in the number of camps and lodges.
The Lower Zambezi National Park is still relatively undeveloped, but its beauty lies in its absolute wilderness state and also offers great opportunities to get close to game. Large herds of elephant, buffalo, impala, kudu, zebra and baboons are often seen browsing at the river’s edge, making it an ideal destination for a safari tour.
The South Luangwa National Park has been labelled as one of the greatest wildlife sanctuaries in the world. The Luangwa River is the most unspoilt river system in Africa. The famous walking safaris originated in this park and remain one of the finest ways to experience this pristine wilderness.
Zambia is known for the Victoria Falls, David Livingstone, Kafue National Park, Lower Zambezi National Park, and South Luangwa National Park.
